Nothing really crazy, a few times phone lines were cut by construction crews, so we had no incoming calls for a few hours. Other than that, everyday was almost the same.

I haven't worked there since the early 90's, but be prepared to hear basically the same story from every delinquent customer. But things may have changed in the last 25yrs. Because of cell phones and fewer land lines.

50-55 calls most days, 35-40 calls people pleading to keep their phone service on, even though they haven't made a payment.

Hated everything about working at N.Y. Telephone. Answered phone calls for 8 hrs. Best job I could get after the Navy.
