#rights #Legal #drugtest #Physical #help #question #advice #jobsearch Hi. I got a job offer from an agency. They sent me to Kaiser to get a physical. Now I looked over the paperwork and it did not ask for a drug test, HIV test, psych testing, or anything else, just medical results. But there was a box for all those things just listed. There was a box for drug test for HIV test for psych test but none of them were checked. At Kaiser I got poked and prodded. I had my blood taken, urine sample, TB test, and when I asked why or what they were screening for they said nothing. Not only is that answer alarming but I have not given consent to any kind of drug test or anything. Well the reason I'm asking a question is since they did all they it is not legal fir them to report if I had drugs or HIV in my system correct? I never consented. My understanding of California law is that one must be made aware and consent to these kind of tests. I may have had something in my system. And I don't think I have HIV but I'm extremely worried that Kaiser will take my specimens and look for things I didn't consent to. Is this possible? In my employee sheet to Kaiser it had a drug test box and it was not checked and then on kaisers legal paperwork is said drug test but not checked and I certainly did not sign there so no consent was given. I'm worried about my rights being violated. I'm not a drug user but I was in vacation in the Caribbean and made a mistake. I know it stays in your blood for a long time and I'm freaking out. Any help?

So my employer is in finical trouble, and his actions have caused all but 3 or 4 people to leave. He had his lawyer draw up paperwork saying that I resign my position. If I sign it, I'll get my PTO pay, and a very small severance. If I don't sign it, it will turn into being fired, and I will not get all my PTO pay. Not sure what to do here. #termination #legal #unemployment #wordsofadvice #advice

Have your attorney look over that paperwork before you sign anything

You've earned your PTO pay, your employer has to pay you this whether or not you sign the document.

So I was terminated from my job. The company wanted me to do extra duties and I did. Just not as fast as they thought. So I go on vacation and come back to getting fired. Since then, finding a great job is hard and I'm blessed to find good work. But applying for county jobs and state jobs, with great benefits don't happen.. Can I file for discrimination or can I file a suit against the company for letting me go like that? Also, I interview well and that's it. Rejected! Is there a statute of limitations on filing? Thanks #termination #advice #discrimination #legal

You should go to human resources and ask why you were let go and explain what was going on

Just curious...how long had you been on the job before you took vacation? How many days did you take off?

So I just finished getting loaded and I looked at my GPS routing before pulling out and it was showing the shortest route to a near by state route. I didn’t blindly follow the gps but rather pulled up the road on Google and scrolled through the street view to make sure that there wasn’t any signs showing that it was restricted or weight restrictions. No sings showing so I proceeded down the road. I came to an intersection one block from the state route. After pulling through the state route a guy in a white pickup truck pulled me over and told me that I was on a restricted road to which I replied there was no signs posted. He said “I know, we stopped putting them up because they kept getting taken down, but I can give you a website to go to and it will tell you all the roads you can’t be on.” He then took my information and wrote me a very hefty ticket.

Okay, so we went to court and because it was a civil issue, we still had to pay a fine but the judge reduced it by 60% which gave me a little breathing room but it was still steep if you add in the attorney cost.

I worked there for nearly 8 years in security. Initially it was a good place to work but with new management everything changed. The atmosphere changed. New management has no respect for the employees, there is no trust anymore. Workers and administrators spy on each other. The place is literally a pig sty. It's filthy. The entire building ops department has quit as they refuse to pay them more than 10 per hour or hire anyone full time. This is also true for all other departments. Head of the cafe walked out in disgust. It's a horrible, horrible place to work. When I qiut and gave them proper notice, I was escorted out of the building as if I were a criminal. It was very depressing, demoralizing. No one in their right mind should ever work for this awful, disgusting institution.

My advice to people interested in working at #Skadden,Arpset.al as a #Partner/CounselAssistant-ExecutiveAssistant ...

Skadden has changed and due to the downsizing and the paperless environment has become a stressful unpleasant place to work. There is no loyalty to the vets of the firm. Those who stayed late to make sure the job was done and all deadlines were met. Gone are the days you were proud to say you worked for them because they only cared about how much money was made and not much about the older employees who helped make the firm what it is today.
