I'm going for this new job with Amazon delivering packages. I get to make my own hours, and practically be my own boss - http://tinyurl.com/AmazonFlexSeattle
Awhile back, I applied for an Amazon flex driver position. It is a delivery driver for their new fresh grocery warehouse. Drivers can make their own hours similar to uber, etc. I got an email recently with a "contingent offer" based on drug and background check. I scheduled a so called hiring event to fill out paperwork and find out more about the position. Even though the location was about an hour away, I was still interested because it seemed like a good opportunity. The only thing that stood out as odd was the hourly pay, which I thought was significantly more when I saw the ad and applied.
Anyway, I arrived at the Amazon fresh warehouse with about a dozen others. The manager acted like she owned Amazon. She kept stating "my warehouse, my people", etc. She was only referring to the part time warehouse associate position, which was a lot less pay then the driver position. Everyone there was applying for the same position. I asked her about the driver position and her response was she didn't need any more drivers now and she won't hire more until probably October or November. I stated that I applied for the driver position and she acted like it was a take it or leave it situation. I was really annoyed by this and felt like I wasted my time. Also, it was only supposed to be an hour event, but turned into 3 hours. If I wanted to be a driver, I would have to wait 3 months in the warehouse position to apply for the transfer or just wait for the position to open up again and apply. Has anybody else been in a similar situation with Amazon?
You can choose the days and times you want to work. You also get paid 2’x a week. Tuesday and Friday’s.
Still work there as of now. I don't love it. I liked that we could pick our own schedules but it is to had to get hrs now.
Find something else. They have to many delivery drivers, to hard to get blocks and routes can be a nightmare as far as mileage goes.
